Singer-songwriter John Denver touched millions of people and reached superstar status with his folk-based pop songs most of which were based in Colorado. Henry John Deutschendorf Jr. was born in Roswell, New Mexico. He fell in love with Colorado and moved to Aspen. Denver's anthems of fame about Colorado have inspired many people to make the move to Colorado. There isn't another performer that embodies Colorado such as John Denver said G. Brown director of the Colorado Music Hall of Fame. Denver was the very one of the first Hall of Fame inductee in 2011. Today he personifies the state for all people. In my journeys, you encounter someone on the other side of the world one from New Zealand and you say "I'm of Colorado and the first word that comes that comes out of their mouths is"Oh John Denver! Brown stated. Take Me Home Country Roads was Denver's first Top 10 Hit as a Solo Artist following his time with small folk groups. The song was composed with Bill Danoff. Danoff composed the track with Johnny Cash in mind but the moment Denver was introduced to an earlier version he knew right away it was destined to be the next hit single. The song was recorded by the singer just a few days later after performing it to crowds of enthusiastic fans on the streets of Washington D.C.
